We are looking for an experienced Installation Engineer to join our Installation team in Sheffield / Manchester, delivering high-quality lift installations across regional sites.
The Role
As a key member of the installation team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient installation of new lift systems, ensuring projects are completed to specification, on time, and ready for testing.
You will work closely with Contract Managers, Site Managers, and clients, while also managing and developing Installation Mates, Improvers, or Apprentices.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Installation Preparation
1. Review installation packs, specifications, and engineering drawings
2. Survey and set out lift shafts prior to installation
3. Manage delivery checks and report shortages
4. Build strong working relationships with site teams and clients
Lift Installation
5. Install Orona’s hydraulic, traction and MRL lift systems to company and manufacturer standards
6. Ensure lifts are installed to correct tolerances and ready for testing
7. Deliver installations that meet PAS 32 standards with minimal defects
Team Leadership
8. Supervise and develop Installation Mates, Improvers or Apprentices
9. Provide coaching, guidance and performance feedback
Health, Safety & Compliance
10. Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety and Environmental standards
11. Enforce site safety rules and correct use of PPE
Operational Management
12. Maintain company van, tools, and equipment
13. Complete timesheets, job sheets and installation reports
14. Communicate site progress, delays, and builder works to management
Requirements
Experience
15. Installation Engineer: Minimum 3 years lift installation experience
Technical Knowledge
16. Strong understanding of EN-81 regulations
17. Knowledge of lift wiring systems and electrical components
18. Experience installing hydraulic, MRL and traction lifts
Qualifications
19. NVQ Level 3 in Lift Installation or equivalent
20. LEIA Units (Lift Technology) as appropriate to level
21. SSSTS or equivalent (for Senior / Lead roles)
22. CSCS certification or ability to obtain
23. Full UK Driving Licence
