Field Service Engineer Role
Location: Factory based in Barry with travel required across the UK and occasional international trips
Employment Type: Permanent
Benefits: 1.30pm finish Fridays, Fully expensed company car, onsite parking
Primary Responsibilities
1. Conduct servicing, maintenance, and repairs on diagnostic instruments
2. Perform equipment calibration and validation, following strict accredited procedures
3. Execute tasks both on-site and at various locations throughout the UK
4. Ensure biannual servicing and verification of all equipment
5. Represent and demonstrate products to clients as needed
Core Duties
6. Oversee all external service, repair, and maintenance activities
7. Deliver customer support through phone, email, and face-to-face interactions
8. Keep clients informed on system updates, changes, and relevant information
9. Maintain accurate records of all service operations
10. Liaise with service administrators to schedule and prioritise service visits
11. Support internal service engineers with technical expertise
12. Foster positive relationships with customers
13. Required Qualifications and Experience
14. Minimum qualification of HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
15. A minimum of three years hands-on experience in field service roles
16. Skilled in installing, testing, and repairing electronic equipment, including printed circuit boards (PCB)
17. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
18. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
19. Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service
20. Valid passport without travel restrictions
21. Clean and full UK driving license
22. Willingness to travel extensively across the UK, including overnight stays as necessary
23. Flexible work schedule adaptability for service callouts
24. Exemplary attendance and timekeeping record
Additional Details
25. Role involves extensive domestic travel with occasional overseas assignments
26. Primary base when not travelling is the Barry factory location
27. Work week totals 37 hours: Monday to Thursday from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Friday from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM
28. On-call availability is required to cover holiday periods due to the service nature of this role
