Role
The Programme Management and Commercial Management (PMCM) team is growing here at Stantec and we are open to speaking with Senior Principal or Principal Consultants for future opportunities in 2026. These roles provide strategic advisory services to clients in our energy sector, focusing on establishing and optimising programme management approaches for large‑scale capital investments.
Responsibilities
* Strategic Programme and Financial Leadership: Oversee the entire lifecycle of projects and programmes, from initial planning and design through to execution and completion. Ensure financial efficiency and value by meticulously managing budgets, costs, and commercial aspects. Develop comprehensive financial models and forecasts to support decision‑making and ensure projects are delivered within budget.
* Advanced Performance Analysis and Process Optimisation: Accurately report on performance metrics, including KPIs and project milestones. Analyse data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and project outcomes.
* Executive People Leadership and Transformational Change Management: Lead by example to create a culture of coaching, innovation and safety within the team. Promote accountability and effective problem‑solving, develop and implement change management strategies and facilitate training to foster continuous learning.
* Strategic Vision and Stakeholder Partnership: Develop and implement innovative strategies that align project goals with stakeholder expectations and organisational objectives. Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners and regulatory bodies.
* Comprehensive Risk Management and Strategic Contract Negotiation: Assess potential risks, develop and implement risk‑management plans, facilitate stakeholder engagement and negotiations, and lead contract negotiations to secure favourable outcomes.
About You
* Extensive programme/project management and commercial acumen, ensuring financial efficiency and value.
* Internal strategic business development experience, trusted advisor role, winning work and identifying growth opportunities.
* Leadership excellence, successfully leading and managing teams to achieve strategic outcomes.
* Sector‑specific experience in water, energy or resource sectors.
* Professional credentials or chartered status.
* Substantial related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
