Job Summary:
Youth Challenge Oxfordshire is looking for a passionate and experienced Group Leader to support our dynamic youth programme in Wallingford. This role is perfect for someone with a background in youth work who thrives on building strong relationships and delivering hands-on, engaging sessions for young people who may struggle in traditional environments.
This exciting opportunity also involves working in partnership with the charity Train, a respected local youth organisation, to help deliver youth provisions to disadvantaged young people.
What You'll Be Doing:
* Deliver our 12-month Youth Challenge programme, supporting a group of young people (aged 13–18) in weekly face-to-face sessions.
* Plan and lead practical, inclusive, and fun activities, including team building, community action, and outdoor learning.
* Reinforce a learning through doing approach when creating and delivering sessions
* Help participants build confidence, resilience, and real-world skills.
* Work in partnership with Train staff when supporting the local youth community.
* Communicate regularly with Youth Challenge staff and attend occasional training or team meetings.
What We're Looking For:
* Experience in youth work, youth engagement, or alternative education settings.
* A positive, empathetic approach to working with young people, especially those who are disengaged or facing challenges.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills – collaboration is key
* Confidence to lead sessions and adapt activities based on group dynamics.
* Availability for weekly evening sessions in Wallingford, plus planning/admin time.

Pay: £15.00 per hour
