Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and creative Band 5 Physiotherapist to join the inpatient therapy team at St Austell Hospital.
The inpatient post will be required to work across both in patient wards at St Austell Hospital. The wards are 23 bedded units each providing assessment and rehabilitation to a wide range of patients with a variety of medical conditions. There may also be opportunity to gain some valuable community rehab experience working with patients in the south Restormel area, making this an excellent career development post for a newly qualified physiotherapist or one wanting to move into community field.
The post holder will join a team of physiotherapists and occupational therapists and would suit someone who particularly enjoys working as part of a multidisciplinary team and enjoys the challenge of setting realistic goals for discharge planning .
We are looking for someone who ideally already has experience of working in a community therapy setting either in-patients or Community rehab .

This is a community-based role that requires frequent travel to various locations throughout the county including areas that may not be accessible by public transportation.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to work as part of the MDT, assessing new patients admitted to the wards, setting treatment goals and following out treatment plans.
Patients have a wide range of physical conditions including orthopaedics, neuro, frailty etc.
Currently the expectation is for a shift pattern from Mon- Friday but a requirement for weekend working may be needed in the future
