Job Summary: The Driver Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of driver training within their designated area. This includes recruiting, inducting, assessing, and developing drivers to ensure they are competent in all areas required by law and company policy. The role holder will work closely with HR, Operations, and other key stakeholders to provide effective support to drivers and assist them in reaching their full potential. Key Responsibilities: - Recruitment: Advertise vacancies, receive applications, conduct interviews, and select suitable candidates for training programs. - Induction: Provide new drivers with comprehensive orientation sessions on company policies, procedures, and safety regulations. - Assessment: Evaluate drivers' performance during initial training and ongoing development programs to identify areas for improvement. - Development: Create personalized development plans for each driver based on their strengths, weaknesses, and career goals. - Coaching: Offer regular coaching and mentoring to help drivers enhance their skills and address any issues that may arise. - Monitoring: Track driver performance against set standards and take appropriate action when necessary. - Reporting: Compile and submit reports on driver training activities, progress, and outcomes to management. - Liaison: Collaborate with various departments, such as HR, operations, and compliance, to ensure alignment between driver training initiatives and organizational objectives. Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Transportation Management, or a related field (desirable). - Proven experience in driver management or human resources, preferably within the transportation industry. - Strong knowledge of relevant legislation governing driver training and employment practices. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with drivers, managers, and external parties. - Organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and other relevant technology tools for data analysis and report generation. - Ability to work independently while also being a team player who contributes to collaborative efforts.
