About Wellbore Integrity Solutions
Wellbore Integrity Solutions (WIS) is a global oilfield technology company developing high‑performance downhole tools and systems used in drilling, fishing, wellbore departure, abandonment, and intervention applications.
About The Position
The Mechanical Engineer will support new product development initiatives focused on drilling and fishing downhole applications.
This role is centered on taking tools from concept through design, prototype build, testing, field trials, and commercialization. The engineer will contribute to technically evaluating concepts, performing engineering analyses, building and testing prototypes, and iterating designs based on field feedback.
This is a hands‑on product engineering role for someone who wants ownership of real mechanical systems and direct exposure to how tools perform in the field.
Primary Responsibilities
New Product Development
* Design and develop mechanical downhole tools from concept through product launch
* Evaluate and technically assess design concepts, including stress analysis and operational limitations
* Generate 3D CAD models, assembly layouts, and detailed component drawings (Creo preferred)
* Apply engineering calculations and established design standards to complete design activities
Engineering Analysis & Validation
* Perform mechanical calculations to support structural and functional performance
* Support advanced analyses or FEA, as required
* Develop test procedures and coordinate lab and prototype testing
* Analyze test data, document results, and recommend design improvements
Prototype, Manufacturing & Field Support
