We’re working with a leading technology research lab that’s pioneering the future of virtual and augmented reality. Their Audio Research team is on a mission to create sounds that are indistinguishable from real life and explore the limits of human hearing.
They’re looking for a Research Assistant to join their team at a brand-new facility. This role offers hands-on experience in a state-of-the-art research environment, collaborating closely with engineers and project coordinators to run experiments, collect high-quality data, and support groundbreaking audio research.
Location: Cambridge, UK (onsite)
Contract: 12 months
Salary: £57,000
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting day-to-day data collection activities in a modern research facility.
* Working closely with Audio Engineers and assisting participants during experiments.
* Ensuring accurate recording and management of metadata, with meticulous attention to detail.
* Liaising with Project Coordinators to help organise schedules for both internal and external participants.
* Performing data validation and providing input into experiment planning and protocol design.
* Eventually, taking responsibility for running simpler data collection sessions independently.
What we’re looking for:
* Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant field.
* Experience in a research setting, including data collection and management.
* Strong organisational skills and a keen eye for detail.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable working with participants and colleagues alike.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.
* Programming experience (Python, R, or similar).
* Background in audio—academic study, playing an instrument, or practical experience.
