Reports to: Care Coordinator / Registered Manager

Location: Clients homes within the community

Hours: Flexible shifts (including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays)

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience and qualifications


Job Purpose

To provide high-quality, person-centred care and support to individuals in their own homes, helping them maintain independence, dignity, and quality of life.


Key Responsibilities

* Personal Care:
o Assist with washing, bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
o Support with mobility, including use of aids and equipment.
* Medication Support:
o Prompt or assist clients with taking prescribed medication in accordance with care plans and company policy.
* Meal Preparation and Nutrition:
o Prepare and serve meals according to individual preferences and dietary needs.
o Support with feeding where required.
* Household Tasks:
o Assist with light domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and shopping.
* Emotional and Social Support:
o Offer companionship and conversation.
o Support participation in community activities, hobbies, and social engagements.
* Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care delivered and observations of clients wellbeing.
o Report any changes in clients condition or concerns to supervisors promptly.
* Safeguarding and Professional Conduct:
o Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and confidentiality procedures.
o Work in accordance with company policies and the Care Quality Commission (CQC) standards.


Essential Requirements

* Compassionate, patient, and reliable.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
* Willingness to undertake training (including Care Certificate, if not already achieved).
* Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (desirable, depending on location).


Desirable Qualifications and Experience

* NVQ/QCF Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards it).
* Previous experience in a domiciliary or community care role.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and person-centred care principles.
