About the role:
We are expanding our community ENT clinical services across Bedfordshire and are recruiting motivated Band 3 Healthcare Assistants to support ENT clinics operating across the region.
This is a 0hour contract, ideal for HCAs seeking flexibility while developing skills within specialist outpatient ENT services. You will work alongside consultants, specialist nurses, and wider clinical teams to deliver safe, efficient, and patientcentred care within community clinic environments.
This role offers excellent exposure to ENT outpatient practice and is perfect for individuals looking to build their skills and progress within community healthcare.
What you will do:
Prepare clinic rooms and equipment for ENT assessments
Act as chaperone during consultations and minor ENT procedures
Support in minor procedures, including handling scopes and assisting clinicians
Provide patient support before, during and after appointments
Assist with administrative tasks, including recording outcomes and supporting clinic flow
Maintain stock levels, clinical supplies, and ensure a safe clinic environment
Travel to community clinic sites across Bedfordshire as required
Provide flexible availability to support weekday and weekend clinics
Our services operate 7 days per week, with shifts typically between 07:00 - 18:00, depending on service demand.
Requirements:
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (essential)
Previous experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker (NHS or private)
Confident working in fastpaced outpatient or community settings
Strong communication and patientcare skills
IT literate
Willing to travel across multiple clinic sites in Bedfordshire
Able to offer flexible shift availability (0hour contract)
Full induction and specialtyspecific ENT training will be provided.
What we offer:
NHS Band 3 equivalent hourly rates
Flexible 0hour contract
Paid mileage at 45p per mile
