We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to support our finance team. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with bookkeeping, and preparing basic accounts. Proficiency with Sage accounting software is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Bookkeeping & Data Entry
* Record day-to-day financial transactions accurately.
* Maintain ledgers, posting entries to ensure completeness and accuracy.
* Accounts Preparation
* Assist with the preparation of basic accounts, including profit and loss, balance sheets, and trial balances.
* Support in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
* Sage Accounting
* Process invoices, receipts, and payments through Sage.
* Reconcile bank statements and supplier accounts.
* Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records within the system.
* Administrative & Support Duties
* Assist in payroll preparation and expense management as required.
* Support the finance team with audits and other financial processes.
* File and manage financial documents in line with company procedures.
Skills & Competencies
* Strong working knowledge of Sage accounting software.
* Good understanding of basic bookkeeping principles.
* Ability to prepare and interpret simple accounts.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience in an accounts assistant, bookkeeper, or similar finance role.
* AAT (Association of Accounting Technicians) qualification or studying towards it is desirable but not essential.
* Experience in working with SMEs or within a busy finance department is an advantage.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £26,000.00-£32,500.00 per year
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
