We have an opportunity for a First Contact Practitioner to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Duties of this role include: Undertake comprehensive MSK assessments of routine and complex patients in a primary care setting, using advanced clinical reasoning and evidence-based practice. Formulate accurate diagnoses, management plans, and prognoses, and initiate appropriate interventions including self-management strategies. Work alongside Advanced Practice Physiotherapists (APPs), GPs, MSK Podiatrists, and other clinicians as part of the integrated MSK service. Contribute to ongoing development and innovation within the MSK service, including pathway development and use of technology to enhance access and outcomes. Where qualified, administer joint and soft tissue injections independently, or be committed to undertaking the necessary training to gain this skill. Applicants should meet the following criteria: HCPC-registered Physiotherapist with significant post-registration experience in MSK. Demonstrated competence in advanced assessment and management of MSK conditions. Experience working autonomously in a primary care, GP, or extended scope setting. Excellent communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills. Understanding of current NHS frameworks, MSK pathways, and population health strategies.
