Description Salary £25,989 - £28,142 per annum | 37 hours per week | Permanent, Full time | Lancashire General Maintenance Operative To provide an inhouse repair and maintenance service across the County Hall complex of buildings in Preston and the Older People's establishments portfolio across the county, as directed by the maintenance team management in line with service level agreements. The post is based at County Hall in Preston but may be required to support various sites across the county. The post is available on a full-time 37 hours per week basis Monday to Friday. Post holders will be required to work at various sites across the county in a pre-determined geographical area, although will be required to provide cover for staff absences or periods of priority workloads in other areas. A full driving license is required to undertake this role, and a business use only work vehicle will be provided with the role where required. A Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background check will be required prior to any candidate being offered employment. • To undertake repair and maintenance tasks at a semi-skilled level to resolve daily repair and maintenance issues e.g. unblocking toilets, clearing drains, collecting debris and waste from external areas, plumbing, tiling, painting, joinery and assist with any other repair and maintenance tasks as required. • To assist the multi-trade skilled workforce with repair and maintenance tasks across all disciplines. • To carry out general labouring, grounds clearing, site maintenance and cleaning tasks across multiple buildings working with the site facilities workforce when required. • To assist with office furniture removals and storage in support of changes in county council business. • Assist with stock areas to ensure all areas are clean and tidy and support tradesmen with stock control reporting information to the maintenance operations support staff in relation to stock. • To undertake regular checks on vehicles used by FM staff including checking oil, water, tyres and fuel and maintaining records of vehicle repair and servicing undertaken and to ensure all vehicles are secure at close of business.
