Job Summary
A quantity surveyor’s role is to provide commercial expertise and be responsible for the financial delivery of a project to ensure that it is procured and delivered within budget and to the highest quality.
From early design costs to final figures, quantity surveyors seek to minimise the costs of the project and enhance value for money whilst ensuring that the project meets all legal and quality assurance requirements and regulations.
Daily Responsibility
* Assist in the commercial management of construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
* Prepare and measure quantities from drawings, specifications and on-site
* Support the procurement of subcontractors and suppliers, including obtaining and comparing quotations.
* Assist and support subcontract management from outset of producing orders, contract documentation, assessing valuation, processing payments, recording change and final account agreements
* Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow.
* Help prepare monthly cost value reconciliations (CVRs).
* Support the preparation of client valuations and payment applications.
* Attend site meetings and liaise with site management teams, subcontractors and Employers
* Build strong relationships internally and externally
