Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Scientist in Cellular Pharmacology to join our Drug Discovery team at Cancer Research UK. This laboratory-based role involves designing, developing, and executing cellular assays to identify and characterize small molecule therapeutics, focusing on mechanism of action, dose prediction, and clinical efficacy.
Key Details
* Salary: £41,700 - £46,500 per annum (dependent on experience) plus benefits, including up to 12% pension contribution and income protection.
* Reports to: Principal Scientist, Mechanistic Pharmacology.
* Location: Babraham Research Campus, Cambridge.
* Contract: Permanent, full-time (35 hours/week, flexible working considered).
* Closing Date: 8 May 2025.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop cellular assays for small molecule profiling.
* Collaborate with industry and academic partners to advance cancer targets.
* Implement new technologies and improve existing processes.
* Present research findings at conferences and publish papers.
Qualifications and Skills
* Degree in biological sciences (BSc, MSc, or PhD); relevant experience may substitute.
* Experience in drug discovery, target characterization, and cell biology.
* Understanding of pharmacology and drug-target interactions.
* Proficiency in assay development (proliferation, ELISA, HTRF, NanoBRET, imaging, flow cytometry, etc.).
* Automation experience is advantageous.
