PRIMARY PURPOSE:
The Mortgage Loan Officer will market and originate mortgage loans that meet regulatory and investor guidelines. They will independently source mortgage loan referrals and production from realtors, builders, financial professionals, branches, and other nontraditional sources. Conduct interviews with prospective borrowers to analyze financial and credit data, determine financing objectives, advise on products and pricing, and gather additional required information. Ensure exceptional customer service by maintaining thorough knowledge of lending programs, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Demonstrate a commitment to professional ethics, complying with all Federal and State policies and adhering to all regulatory requirements.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
1. Develop lending relationships to self-source loan referrals to generate loan volume within the market area.
2. Educate prospective & existing partners of Wings mortgage programs & requirements.
3. Partner with mortgage business development to engage in marketing and promotional activities to increase prospects.
4. Spend at least one or two hours a day, two or more times a week, outside of the office (including a home office building a referral network).
5. Gather all necessary information and documentation for analysis, disclosure, and underwriting loan application.
6. Educate members regarding financing options, rates & products to ensure they receive the appropriate product to meet their needs.
7. Utilize automated underwriting system as an underwriting tool to ensure borrower meets applicable loan guidelines.
8. Understand compliance requirements including state-specific lending requirements, attorney requirements, and community property laws.
9. Effectively communicate and coordinate with members, realtors, underwriters, processors, and closers to ensure closing dates are met.
10. Develop and maintain visibility for SbCU and Wings Credit Union in the marketplace.
11. Stay informed of investor guidelines, market conditions, and competitor rates & products to align offerings with borrower needs.
12. Maintain a commitment to professional development through educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and networking.
13. Adhere to QC standards as outlined in the performance plan.
14. Ensure security and privacy of all personal identifiable information & documentation.
Qualifications
* College degree preferred.
* 3 years mortgage Loan Officer experience required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
* Knowledge of sales prospecting and generating referrals.
* Professional appearance for public contact.
* Deliver premier customer service.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
* Ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize, and multitask.
* Self-motivated with high attention to detail.
* Must obtain or possess a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license, including passing background and credit checks, fingerprinting, and compliance with S.A.F.E. Act requirements.
* Bondable.

Pay: $56k base salary plus incentives and annual bonus. Unlimited earning potential, no cap on incentives.
