Overview
Applications are invited from candidates with experience of Forensic Psychiatry or General Adult Psychiatry for a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist post in Specialist Community Forensic Team (SCFT), Ealing, Hammersmith & Hounslow (EHH) hub West London Forensic Service. Applicants must be registered with a licence to practice with the GMC. Inclusion on the Specialist Register or within six months of interview is a requirement. All applicants should have Section 12 Approval and Approved Clinician status or be able to apply. Applicants need to inform us in advance if they are under any formal investigation processes by any organisations including General Medical Council (GMC).
This is a replacement post within a Trust that provides all aspects of forensic care with a large peer group and opportunities to develop clinical, management and leadership skills in a variety of settings. There are opportunities to apply for funded sessions or use SPA time for leadership, medical education, research, QI and other linked activities. The post is within a dynamic and expanding SCFT team serving West London, with opportunities to contribute to service development.
Responsibilities
* Provide clinical leadership to the team and act as Responsible Clinician / Clinical Supervisor for the service users in your caseload.
* Offer in-reach to secure wards and follow up to approximately 30 in-patients prior to discharge (you will not be the Responsible Clinician for these patients).
* Manage a small but complex caseload of approximately 30 outpatients supported by a multi-disciplinary team, including social care and administrative support.
* Support the secure ward teams and service users preparing for discharge with expert community forensic input.
