Senior Research Fellow (Legal Charity)
Location: Can be remote within England under flexible working policy
Civitas Charity Recruitment is working with an independent national legal charity seeking a Senior Research Fellow to join its highly respected research team. The organisation aims to ensure individuals facing disadvantage can hold power to account and access justice. Its work includes legal research, policy, litigation, and training, focusing on improving public decision-making and fairness in society.
This role offers the opportunity to lead impactful research supporting access to justice and influencing administrative law reform. The successful candidate will collaborate with experienced colleagues and contribute to a vision of a fairer, more inclusive society. The role requires empirical research expertise, strategic thinking, and the ability to translate findings into action.
Who we are looking for
We seek someone with a strong understanding of public and administrative law and awareness of barriers to justice faced by many people. You should have a proven record of designing and delivering impactful empirical research and be adept at communicating your work to diverse audiences. Experience in developing research-informed policy, working with external partners, and contributing to funding bids is desirable. A commitment to equity, collaboration, and courage is essential. Lived experience or previous work with marginalized communities is an asset.
This is a permanent position based in London, with flexible working options. It can be full-time or part-time (minimum 28 hours/week). The salary is £45,669 per year, with eligibility for a cost-of-living uplift. Benefits include a 10% employer pension contribution after one year, 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, and flexible working from day one.
