About the Role
Bracknell Forest Council is seeking a Senior Social Worker to join its Duty and Assessment Team, the front door of Children’s Social Care. This is a pivotal role for experienced professionals who are passionate about safeguarding children and supporting families to make sustainable, positive changes.
You’ll lead on complex assessments, Section 17 and 47 investigations, and short-term interventions. The team uses the Family Safeguarding Model and Motivational Interviewing (MI) to empower families and keep children safely at home where possible.
Key Responsibilities
* Conduct needs-led, outcome-focused child assessments
* Lead on child protection enquiries and multi-agency collaboration
* Manage a duty caseload and respond to safeguarding concerns
* Maintain accurate records in line with GDPR and departmental policy
* Participate in reflective supervision and contribute to team development
What You’ll Bring
* Social Work England registration
* Minimum 3 years post-qualifying experience in Children’s Social Care
* Strong knowledge of child protection legislation and thresholds
* Excellent assessment, analysis, and case recording skills
* Confidence in leading complex cases and mentoring others
