Senior Building Control Surveyor
City of Wolverhampton Council, 37‑hour week, Full Time, permanent, Flexible Working.
Role Overview
We are looking to appoint an additional Senior Building Control officer with excellent communication skills and a pro‑active approach to problem solving to help deliver a first‑class service to all our customers.
Key Responsibilities
* Interpret, apply and enforce building regulations for domestic and commercial projects.
* Assess and approve building control applications in line with council policies.
* Provide technical guidance to contractors, developers and council staff.
* Maintain accurate records and produce reports on compliance.
* Support the delivery of building safety initiatives in line with BSR requirements.
Qualifications
* Accredited to the Building Safety Regulator (BSR Class 2 A to F).
* Degree in a Building Related Subject or equivalent.
* Previous experience in a Building Control organisation.
* Proven track record of determining building regulation applications.
* Membership of a recognised professional body such as RICS, ABE or CIOB is an advantage.
* Willingness to undertake further training as necessary.
