Location: Rochdale Area
Salary: £28,000 - £30,000
This role would suit an experienced Credit Controller who is confident handling complex accounts, can work independently, and is ready to get involved in project work and process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor the end-to-end credit control process in line with internal policies
Oversee a diverse ledger
Assess the creditworthiness of new and existing customers
Establish and review credit limits to manage risk while supporting commercial activity
Proactively chase outstanding payments and resolve payment discrepancies
Reduce aged debt and minimise bad debt risk through consistent follow-up and negotiation
Maintain strong working relationships with customers to encourage timely payments and resolve disputes
Collaborate with sales and customer service teams on credit-related matters
Generate regular reports for management on collections, overdue accounts, and credit risk exposure
Support wider business initiatives and contribute to ongoing improvements in credit control processes
Assist in instructing debt collection agencies when necessary
Person specification:
3+ years’ experience in credit control or accounts receivable, ideally in a fast-paced environment
Excel skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider finance team
