Our client is one of the UK's leading privately owned infrastructure specialists and Main Contractors, delivering projects and frameworks across the UK.\n\nWorking on and delivering civil engineering water projects across South London, this is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor, from an infrastructure background, with previous experience either working on Civils, Water or Utilities projects.\n\nAs a key member of the team delivering your own portfolio, you will liaise with customer representatives, subcontractors and other third parties on commercial issues including the agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments.\n\nSenior Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities:\n\nEnsure robust, accurate and timely cost and value reporting at both project and business unit level.\nWork with project delivery teams to forecast predicted spend and cash recovery and ensure that both are kept in line with the target.\nCarrying out cost management including forecasting, updating the monthly CVR, cost and commercial plans.\nHelp ensure that any main contracts entered into have terms and conditions that are appropriate, with commercial risks identified.\nEnsure that the supply chain is engaged appropriately with the correct contract terms and conditions.\nBe responsible for subcontract letting, negotiation and financial accounting, and preparing applications for payment.\nSupervise and mentor other Quantity Surveyors and reports.Senior Quantity Surveyor requirements:\n\nPrevious Tier 1 contractor experience delivering civil engineering infrastructure projects.\nDegree or HNC/HND Quantity Surveying or construction related qualification.\nMinimum 5 years' experience working on civil engineering / infrastructure projects.\nPrior experience working on Southern Water, Affinity Water or Thames Water projects an advantage.\nFamiliarity with NEC (3 or 4) forms of contract and knowledge of current Construction Law.\nExperienced procuring and managing subcontractors, including chairing meetings and managing negotiations.\nAble to produce accurate monthly forecasting, challenge resources and costs, good knowledge of monthly reporting and earned value analysis, and maintain deadlines in line with the monthly commercial calendar.\nAbility to encourage, support and mentor junior members of staff.\nExcellent communication, numeric and computer literacy skills, proficient in Microsoft Office.Senior Quantity Surveyor Benefits:\n\nOpportunity to work for one of the UK's largest privately owned civil engineering and infrastructure specialists.\nCompetitive salary up to £75,000 and car or car allowance.\nExcellent benefits package.\nFlexible working available.\nImmediate role. \n\nIf you are interested in this Senior Quantity Surveyor role, apply now
