Job Overview
The Clinical Support and Resource Manager will provide the day to day operational management of the Clinical Support Resource Team managing supply, maintenance and disposal of all equipment and consumables and ensuring a safe and high quality provision of service to all UHCW Theatres and Critical Care areas. Any risks pertaining to equipment or consumables will be identified and managed via the Clinical Support and Resource Manager.
The post holder will manage the synergy between Theatres, Critical Care, MEBs and Procurement when purchasing, storing and utilising equipment and consumables, ensuring adequate stock levels, value for money and that waste is at a minimum. The post holder will lead on Waste Audits and Capital Bids processes for Theatres and Critical Care.

* Plan, support facilitate and monitor progress of Clinical Resource initiatives across Theatres and Critical care.
* Demonstrate knowledge and skills in use of surgical, anaesthetic, recovery and Intensive Care equipment, covering individual specialities and surgeon preferences, updating and leading the implementation of new equipment and techniques in these areas.
* To manage and maintain an asset database of all equipment, ensuring that plans are in place for maintenance of equipment or replacement programs for those that are coming to the end of life.
* Ensure all clinical equipment and physical resources are available to safely perform all surgical, anaesthesia and recovery procedures according to the individual speciality needs of each patient.
* Ensure that all clinical equipment and consumable store rooms are managed in line with adequate stock levels, stock rotation and maintained in line with 5S standards ensuring waste is at a minimum

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
* Lead on continuous improvement workstreams utilising the UHCWi improvement methodology across Theatres and Critical Care footprints. Supporting Theatres Specialty Leads to deliver improvements relating to their stock ordering roles across all theatre footprints.
* Act as the central coordinator of UHCWs Theatres, liaison with the sterilising service for instrument trays and other equipment that requires sterilising.
* Ensure all equipment is safe and fit for purpose via an asset database and that all routine maintenance and servicing is up to date, working closely with the MEBs Team to ensure early escalation of issues on the horizon.
* Monitor equipment lifespan and work with the Clinical Leads, Lead Nurses and Service Managers to formulate the capital replacement plans as part of yearly business planning.
* Ensure robust processes for staff to escalate faulty equipment to the Clinical Support Resource Team facilitating timely access to replacement equipment and equipment repairs, with either MEBs or external contractors.
* When required, provide day today support to the clinical areas ensuring appropriate concerns are escalated to the Deputy Group Director of Operations.
* Demonstrate proficient personal organisational skills to lead and organise the Theatre and Critical Care Resource team proficiently, to serve the needs of these areas.
* Demonstrate ability to prioritise competing clinical technical and resource needs and be able to anticipate impact of resource associated problems across the areas, combined with the ability to provide effective responses to address the arising issues rapidly.
