Job Summary
The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for all aspects of Manufacturing Engineering (ME) including New Product Introduction (NPI) and sustaining products and programs. This role is critical in ensuring business performance plans are achieved through development and sustainment of robust manufacturing processes and product quality. Responsible for driving focused continuous improvement for process controls, yield improvements and improved productivity.
Responsibilities
* Develop manufacturing processes and controls to improve quality and product throughput, and reduce cost. Identify and implement solutions.
* Applying lean principles to identify and reduce waste, and optimise processes.
* Carrying out risk mitigation through the use of APQP and PPAP techniques.
* Assist in the definition of manufacturing facilities and equipment requirements providing support for the introduction of new facilities and equipment.
* Developing Process Specifications and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
* Designing and developing tools and equipment
* Developing routings in SAP, and supporting FAI’s
Mandatory requirements
* Experience in manufacturing/production engineering
* Good communication and organizational skills, able to develop formal reports and documents · Problem solving skills and use of root cause analysis · Understanding of Lean Principles
* Experience working on process improvement initiatives
* Intermediate competency with Microsoft software including Word, Excel and Outlook
Required qualification requirements
* A HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
* A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
Desirable experience & skills
* Experience working with Rubber and Polyurethane based products
* Use of SAP for producing BoMs and routings
* Experience of APQP and PPAP standards including Process Flow Diagram, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis, Process Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis and Statistical Process Controls
* Experience of Tool design using CATIA or AutoCAD
* Knowledge or practical experience with Production Automation and Process Control Systems
* Yellow or Green Belt Lean Six Sigma
Working Hours
* 07:30 -16:15: Monday-Thursday
* 07:30-16:00: Fridays
* (Every other Friday is a non-working day)
