The role
In this role of Assistant Accountant, you will provide support to the wider finance team and provide excellent, accurate and relevant financial information to customers. This role sits within our Housing Development team in supporting Orbit Homes with ongoing and upcoming development projects, playing a vital role in helping us achieve our 2030 targets. This is an agile working role based out of our Coventry office in Binley.
This role is part of Finance where you'll help us to invest more back into communities and design for strength.
What you'll achieve
* Maintenance of accurate information on the financial ledgers for example preparing and posting journals, reconciling accounts, analysing information etc.
* Maintaining the integrity of development projects (e.g. analysing and reconciling projects).
* Establishing and maintaining robust relationships with your customers ensuring that you understand their needs and their business.
* Provide financial support and guidance to the business including the monitoring and performance of new development schemes.
* Providing information to your customers and the Finance Manager to inform the budget setting / monitoring process and the project cashflows.
What you'll bring
Essential skills
* AAT qualified or equivalent
* Ideally part qualified (ACCA/CIMA/CIPFA/ICAEW/equivalent)
* Good IT literacy including excel skills
* Good literacy and numeracy skills
* The ability to communicate clearly with customers
* Appropriate proven experience of Microsoft Excel including setting up, using, and linking spreadsheets
