About the Role
Our assistant instructors support the delivery of bespoke, inspiring outdoor learning programmes to young people aged 5–25, many with additional learning and SEMH needs, primarily at secondary school age. They require individualised methods and enthusiastic, patient support. Activities include allotment development, coppicing, conservation tasks, fencing, food growing, hiking, campfire cooking, shelter-building, woodcrafts, and traditional games. Sessions may occur in school grounds, woodlands, or allotments. Some groups follow Forest School programmes or pursue land-based qualifications. Our programmes offer inclusive, alternative education tailored to their needs. This role is unique, often tiring, but incredibly rewarding.
