About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Safeguarding Adults Team at WNC. The team is responsible for ensuring an effective and responsive approach to managing safeguarding alerts raised by individuals and organisations.
The team manages safeguarding at the front door, making robust decisions about necessary actions and providing information and guidance on alternative pathways when safeguarding criteria are not met.
Additionally, the team leads on S42 enquiries when an organisation is the alleged source of risk, undertaking actions to reduce or remove identified risks and supporting safety plans.
What will you be doing?
The team supports the Safeguarding Hub, which manages the initial response to concerns. This role will focus specifically on front-door operations, ensuring prompt and robust decision-making to keep people safe.
The Assistant Team Manager will ensure a consistent approach to managing safeguarding referrals, identifying themes and trends, and working with partners to ensure high-quality, appropriate referrals for safeguarding action.
About you
This role is challenging, requiring the ability to manage fluctuating demands and complexities from the front door, make effective and responsive safeguarding decisions, and identify pathways to mitigate or reduce risks of abuse or neglect.
You should be able to identify themes and challenge partners to ensure the best safeguarding outcomes for adults.
* Level 5 leadership/management qualification or willingness to work towards it.
* Degree-level education in health and social care or a related field, or equivalent experience.
* Experience in supervision, mentoring, coaching, or training staff, preferably within a health and social care setting.
* Effective leadership, support, and engagement, even in challenging circumstances, including with partner agencies and professionals.
* Strong knowledge of the Care Act 2014, current national policy drivers, legislation affecting adult social care, e.g., Mental Capacity Act 2005, Health and Care Act 2022.
