Role Overview
This role supports a long-term, multi-year engineering programme focused on delivering high-integrity electronic and electromechanical systems. You will play a key part in ensuring products are designed with scalable, supportable and cost-effective manufacturing in mind, from initial concept through to decades of in-service support.
Key Responsibilities
Design for Manufacture (DfM)
* Develop and implement innovative DfM processes to support scalable, efficient, and cost-effective production systems.
* Work closely with design, systems, and manufacturing teams to embed DfM principles early in the product lifecycle.
* Optimise manufacturing processes for high-complexity, medium-volume products.
Manufacturing Process Development
* Support the creation of business and engineering processes that enable scalable, repeatable manufacturing.
* Identify and drive automation and digital manufacturing opportunities to enhance quality, consistency, cost efficiency, and throughput.
* Lead design reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs, and validation activities.
* Provide technical input for make/buy decisions and cost modelling.
