This is an opportunity to join the Built Environment Team, a team that is committed to finding creative but feasible solutions for the public sector, centred on the unlocking and bringing forward of challenging and complex-built environment projects. The Built Environment Team has a number of Local Authority and private sector clients appointed to deliver projects with a range of outputs, including residential, commercial, retail and leisure uses including infrastructure and Public Realm.
The Built Environment Team is currently made up of two Directors, two Senior Development Managers, an Assistant Project Manager, Apprentice Project Manager and a Graduate. We are currently expanding the team across Manchester and Leeds offices to support the continued growth of the service line.
We are seeking a Programme Manager to join the growing team in Manchester. The role will provide support in the delivery of projects in this fast paced dynamic team that is successfully delivering a programme of multi-million pound developments.
The ideal candidate would be energetic, committed and willing to support the wider team to complete identified work streams within a wider work programme. Strong communication skills are necessary with co-ordinated organised approach to delivery of tasks alongside the ability to work independently and think outside the box.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting the Built Environment Team in:
* To assist with the implementation of individual regeneration projects & initiatives and their integration and co-ordination within wider regeneration strategies.
* To develop and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and partners and work closely with team members.
* Preparation of relevant project initiation documentation and ensure project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.
* Help to create and execute project work plans and prepare procurement documentation relating to contractors & consultants
* Assist the team to prepare reports for internal and external meetings
* Communication of project information to a range of audiences including deliver engaging, informative, well-organised presentations.
* To assist with the monitoring of project budgets and spend.
* Preparing bids for services and supporting the Built Environment Team wider Business Development Strategy
* Various administrative tasks to enable the smooth operation of the Built Environment Team and delivery of projects
* Participate in the preparation of and take part in a range of profile raising and business development activities

About You
Who we’re looking for:
Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills
* An awareness of regeneration issues
* An awareness of the development process: planning, development appraisals, policy context, funding and legal aspects of delivering development.
* Relevant experience of working on a project in a responsible role
* Experience of effective engagement with key stakeholders
* Knowledge and some experience in commissioning external consultants and contractors
* Understand basic budget monitoring involved in project development and delivery
* Demonstrable experience of the following
o Critical thinking and problem solving skills
o Planning, organising and effective time management
o Decision-making
o Communication skills
o Team work
o Negotiation
o Conflict management
o Adaptability
o Risk identification & management
o Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.
* Local Authority Knowledge/Experience (Not essential)
Qualifications
* BSc Degree
* Undertaking to attain professional membership – RICS, CIOB or APM or equivalent standard
