If you are passionate about improving practice, influencing quality and supporting better outcomes for vulnerable adults, this could be the perfect next step in your career. Join us as a Quality Assurance Officer and help shape high-quality Adult Social Care services that make a meaningful difference every day.

At Bracknell Forest, we pride ourselves on being a council which is stable and well-managed where our employees can thrive in a supportive environment. We understand the importance of a healthy work-life balance and offer a variety of flexible working practices, including options for remote working and arrangements that allow you to work from home, dependent on the needs of the service. This role includes an expectation to work from our Time Square office two days per week, alongside flexible working arrangements.

About you...

As a Quality Assurance Officer, you will lead and support our annual audit programme, playing a key role in driving continuous improvement. Your social work knowledge and experience will strengthen our audit activity and support better outcomes for vulnerable adults.

We are therefore looking for a qualified Social Worker with experience in Adult Social Care and a strong commitment to building positive relationships with colleagues, both internally and externally. You will also have a sound knowledge of the Care Act 2014 and related legislation.

You will bring in-depth knowledge of what works well for vulnerable adults and a clear understanding of what good practice looks like. You will be confident in using a range of information sources, including statistical data, audit findings, research evidence, feedback from families and the voice of the vulnerable adult, to understand the collective impact of the teams.

Ideally, you will have experience of audit work, however, at a minimum, you will have excellent knowledge of operational practice in Adult Social Care and a strong understanding of what high-quality practice looks like.

About the team...

The Quality Assurance Officer sits within the Commissioning service and is part of a small team of experienced social work managers and skilled support staff. We work closely with Adult Social Care colleagues to deliver our functions effectively.

We know that social work, while rewarding, is not always easy. We take a relational approach in all that we do and are committed to providing consistency for the vulnerable adults we support, while building strong working relationships with colleagues in Adult Social Care and with external partners.

To support high-quality, consistent practice, we offer a regular and comprehensive learning and development programme, alongside bespoke training tailored to the needs of the Quality Assurance team. We also recognise this is a unique role and as such you will benefit from a strong induction plan and will have direct support and guidance from the Head of Quality Assurance.

* Local government pension scheme, with life insurance cover.
* Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme (subject to eligibility).
* Reimbursement of Social Work England registration.
* Recognition of continuous service attained within the NHS and UKHSA when calculating some benefits. (Terms and Conditions apply)
