Senior Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer

Compensation: Hybrid Working Up to GBP52,000 DOE + Bonus, Life Assurance, Enhanced Pension

A globally recognized organization specializing in innovative manufacturing solutions is seeking a Senior Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Engineer. The company is committed to environmental sustainability, helping clients reduce their environmental impact.
Reporting to the Electrical, Controls & Instrumentation Manager, the successful candidate will oversee projects from concept to customer commissioning and field trials. Responsibilities include implementing engineering strategies, collaborating with stakeholders, and ensuring delivery within budget and specifications.
Main Responsibilities
1. Lead engineering and product development teams to deliver cost-effective, standards-compliant products.
2. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure clear work packages, resolve technical issues, and identify optimal solutions.
3. Own the technical design of product systems/subsystems, including risk identification and mitigation.
4. Promote modularity and standardization to maximize reuse of engineering efforts.
5. Contribute to project planning, prioritize tasks, monitor progress, and address obstacles.
6. Drive continuous improvement in controls engineering processes.
7. Develop and review technical content for manuals, build notes, and service instructions.
Experience & Skills
* Experience in controls and software within relevant industries.
* HND or degree in electrical, instrumentation, controls, or software engineering.
* Significant experience in product design and development for electrical controls and instrumentation, including:
* PLC programming (ladder logic, structured text, function blocks), HMI programming (VB.net or similar), communication protocols (Modbus), and software configuration management.
* Understanding of P&ID diagrams, electrical schematics, and PID loops.
* Knowledge of control systems, communication architectures, hardware selection, and troubleshooting tools.
* Experience in compliance-driven industries, such as semiconductor manufacturing, with familiarity with standards like EN/UL61010, EN60204, EN 61508, EN 13849, EN 61511, SEMI S2, and risk assessment methods like HAZOP, FMEA.
