We are seeking to appoint a Shift Production Team Leader to ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the facility. The successful candidate will lead shift operations, supervise staff, and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards. This is a shift role based south of Glasgow
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Operate, start, stop, and monitor turbines, boilers, pumps, water treatment systems, and other plant equipment using a DCS system
Ensure plant operations remain within defined parameters while complying with strict HSE regulations, company policies, and procedures
Conduct plant walkdowns and daily inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently
Monitor Continuous Emissions Monitoring Systems (CEMS) to ensure compliance with environmental permit conditions
Provide technical supervision and support to company and contract staff
Work within the company's Health & Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems
Direct and guide Shift Process Operators in carrying out scheduled plant inspections, asset adjustments, and reporting activities
Support and coordinate minor reactive maintenance and process stoppages, including raising jobs on the maintenance system
Assist in the continuous improvement of operational Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
Maintain accurate plant performance records and complete shift logs
Supervise the testing and treatment of boiler, cooling, and other plant water systems
Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly plant environment
Manage, mentor, coach, and develop shift team members
Provide shift cover for other Shift Team Leaders during sickness, holidays, or training
Experience, Qualifications & Skills
Essential
HNC, NVQ, or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or demonstrable time-served experience
Strong knowledge and experience of HMI, SCADA, and DCS systems
Operational experience in power generation, steam raising, or mechanical process environments
Experience working in both control room and shop-floor plant environments
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
A flexible, team-oriented working attitude
Basic IT skills for reporting and documentation
Practical mechanical skills for minor adjustments and repairs
Desirable
IOSH, NEBOSH, or BOAS qualification
Background within EFW would be beneficial
