Toolroom Engineer
Location: Near Uxbridge, West London
Salary: £36,729 (£19ph) + 1.5x daily overtime

There is a signing bonus available with this role: £3,000 paid over three (3) instalments.

We are recruiting a Toolroom Engineer to support low‑batch, high‑precision machining operations. This role is ideal for a machinist who enjoys hands‑on work, combining manual machining, deburring and fitting, rather than high‑volume production work.

Toolroom Engineer Duties
* Carry out manual machining, including milling, turning, drilling and fitting
* Perform deburring, bench work and component finishing/broaching
* Produce precision components to tight tolerances and engineering drawings
* Edit programmes at the machine (no offline programming required)
* Carry out self‑inspection using micrometres, verniers, gauges, etc.
* Support apprentices and trainees where required
* Conduct basic machine and tool maintenance
Toolroom Engineer Profile
This role suits a hands‑on machinist with a strong manual background and a quality‑first mindset.
Essential experience
* Background as a Manual Machinist, Toolroom Engineer or Toolmaker
* Confident setting and operating CNC mills and lathes
* Strong manual machining skills
* Experience with deburring, fitting and finishing work
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
* Comfortable working to tight tolerances and quality standards
