As a Planning & Scheduling Apprentice, you will support the planning team and operational colleagues to help plan works before they start on site. You will learn how planning and streetworks activities are managed, with guidance and support from experienced team members. You will develop an understanding of how to plan work in line with agreed schedules, safety requirements and industry regulations (including NRSWA), while helping to ensure works are delivered on time and with minimal financial impact to the business. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in utilities planning, coordination or operations. As part of your role, you will be enrolled onto a level 3 business administration apprenticeship. Key Responsibilities With training and support, you will learn to: Support the coordination of workstreams from receipt through to job completion Assist with scheduling work orders in line with service level agreements (SLAs) Help keep planning and streetworks information accurate and up to date in works management systems Learn how noticing issues are identified and escalated to the appropriate teams Support communication with operational teams and internal stakeholders Assist with the preparation of daily and weekly reports Contribute positively to the team by asking questions, learning new skills, and supporting continuous improvement Follow company procedures and report any safety concerns appropriately Experience and Qualifications An interest in utilities, planning, or coordination roles Willingness to learn and develop new skills Good organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks with support Clear communication skills and a positive, professional attitude Attention to detail and a logical approach to work A minimum of Level 2 qualifications (GCSE or equivalent) that meet entry requirements for the apprenticeship. Basic IT skills or the willingness to learn (Excel and Word essential). No previous utilities or planning experience is required, as full training will be provided.
