Science Technician – Full-Time

Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a secondary school to appoint a Science Technician to join their Science Department on a full-time basis from February Half Term. This is an excellent opportunity for a well-organised and proactive individual to support high-quality teaching and learning across the science curriculum.
The successful candidate will provide practical and technical support for science lessons, ensuring laboratories are safe, well-prepared and fully resourced for practical activities.
The Role
As a Science Technician, you will:
* Prepare and set up equipment, materials and resources for science lessons and practical experiments
* Support teaching staff during practical sessions when required
* Clear away equipment and ensure laboratories are left safe and tidy
* Maintain science laboratories, preparation rooms and storage areas
* Monitor stock levels, order supplies and keep accurate inventories
* Ensure the safe handling, storage and disposal of chemicals and equipment
* Follow health & safety regulations and support risk assessment procedures
* Carry out routine equipment checks and basic maintenance
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
* Has a good standard of education, including GCSEs (or equivalent) in Science and Maths
* Is organised, reliable and able to manage their time effectively
* Has strong attention to detail and a commitment to health & safety
* Can work well both independently and as part of a team
* Communicates clearly and professionally with staff and students
Desirable (but not essential):
* Previous experience as a Science Technician or in a laboratory environment
* Experience working within a school or educational setting
* Relevant training or qualifications related to laboratory work or health & safety
