We’re helping a leading software business hire a Head of Accounting – Revenue & Cost of Sale. This is a key role within the group finance function, where you’ll take ownership of revenue recognition and cost accounting, manage a small team, and support system and process improvements during a busy period.
WISH LIST Strong technical grasp of revenue recognition (FRS 102 / IFRS 15)
Experienced people-manager
Comfortable taking ownership of complex problems and delivering solutions independently
Responsibilities Own and apply revenue recognition policies in line with FRS 102
Lead a team of analysts to meet month-end and reporting deadlines
Review and validate the financial terms of contracts, renewals, and change requests
Manage revenue and cost of sale recognition processes end-to-end
Prepare and post accurate journal entries at month-end
Reconcile deferred income, accrued income, prepayments, and fulfilment costs
Provide insight and analysis on revenue forecasts and performance
Collaborate closely with sales, projects, and finance to gather contract data
Identify and implement process improvements across systems (NetSuite, Salesforce)
Support external audit and ensure financial compliance
Qualifications / Your Profile Good working knowledge of MS Excel
Extensive experience of revenue recognition & cost of sale accounting
Experienced people-manager
Experience with NetSuite ZoneBilling (advantageous)
