Are you an experienced vet looking to join a forward-thinking, supportive, and clinically progressive practice on the beautiful Sussex coast? If you're passionate about delivering high-quality care in a well-equipped and team-focused environment, this could be the ideal opportunity for you.
My client is expanding their dedicated team in Eastbourne and are seeking a caring, motivated Veterinary Surgeon. Ideally, you'll be a certificate holder or currently studying towards one, and ready to bring your skills and enthusiasm to a well-established, respected practice.
This is a first opinion, small animal role with a strong emphasis on case continuity and clinical excellence. You'll work alongside a large team of experienced vets and nurses in a practice that truly values collaboration, learning, and professional development. You’ll find a workplace where ideas are shared openly, and where you’ll be supported to develop your interests and further your career. The role is Full time 40 hours across 4 days per week, with 2 Saturdays and 1 Sunday (half day) in an 8-weekend rota. TOIL provided after working a weekend
Modern facilities include advanced diagnostic and treatment tools such as video gastroscopy and bronchoscopy, dental radiography, a tonopen, slit lamp, and an in-house lab with blood gas analysis, EPOC, and coagulation testing. The team includes certificate holders in radiology, medicine, general practice, surgery, and behaviour and they also benefit from visiting peripatetic specialists and work in close partnership with an on-site orthopaedic referral team.
As a VetsNow host practice, they offer excellent overnight inpatient care and have no overnight work for the own team, ensuring a healthier work-life balance. A dedicated nursing team plays a vital role in supporting case management, allowing vets to focus on clinical decision-making and patient care.
With over 70 years serving the Eastbourne community, this is the largest veterinary practice in the area, home to 13 vets and 20 RVNs/SVNs. They are RCVS accredited and deeply committed to both patients and team. The modern practice includes separate dog, cat, rabbit, and isolation wards, creating a comfortable and stress-free environment for all patients.
Located at the foot of the South Downs and just minutes from the beach, Eastbourne offers an exceptional lifestyle for outdoor enthusiasts, from paddleboarding to hiking. The town is close to Brighton and within easy reach of London, making it a fantastic location for work and leisure.
And with commitment to supporting the team’s wellbeing, offering a comprehensive wellness programme, a network of Mental Health First Aiders, and a confidential Employee Assistance Programme for all associates. It makes for a great place to work
In return for your dedication and expertise, they offer a competitive salary and a generous benefits package including 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays and birthday leave, paid RCVS and VDS fees, enhanced CPD allowance with full support for certificate study, opportunities for both clinical and non-clinical career progression, enhanced family and sickness leave, staff discounts, and a cycle-to-work scheme.
If you’re ready to bring your skills to a thriving, supportive practice in a stunning part of the country, we’d love to hear from you.
