Job Summary
We are looking for an organised, hardworking, flexible, and enthusiastic Health Care Assistant / Phlebotomist to join our friendly and supportive team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and compassionate individual to play a vital role in supporting our clinical team and delivering high-quality care to our patients.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform venepuncture and other blood sampling procedures safely and efficiently.
* Assist with routine clinical tasks such as blood pressure monitoring, ECGs, urine testing, and basic health assessments, including NHS Health Checks.
* Support nurses and GPs where required.
* Record and monitor patients' vital signs and observations.
* Conduct ECGs and support chronic disease management clinics.
* Carry out NHS health checks and provide health promotion advice.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and laboratory sample handling.
* Ensure infection prevention and control standards are met and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
* Work flexibly across both Long Sutton and Sutton Bridge surgery sites.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proven experience as a Health Care Assistant, Phlebotomist, or in a similar clinical role.
* Phlebotomy certification and knowledge of safe blood collection techniques.
* Basic Life Support (BLS) and first aid training preferred.
* Experience working in primary care, GP practices desirable.

Essential
* Experience working as a Health Care Assistant or Phlebotomist.

* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Basic IT literacy.
Desirable
* Experience in a GP or primary care environment.
* Knowledge of EMIS Web or similar clinical systems.
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
* Training in ECGs, blood pressure monitoring, or chronic disease support.
