Job Summary
We are an acute Teaching Hospital Trust recruiting two HR Advisors to join our People Services Advisory Team on a fixed‑term basis to cover maternity leave. The role is based at the Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Responsibilities
- Support the HR Manager and Senior HR Business Partner in providing proactive, effective, and high‑quality HR service to Divisional Managers, Medical Managers, and staff.
- Deliver operational HR, ensuring the provision is efficient, effective, and business‑focused within recognised external and internal standards.
- Support Trust Divisions in delivering the Trust’s People strategy, aligning with the People Strategy, quality agenda for patients, and service users.
- Develop systems to deliver an excellent HR service and contribute to policy development and review.
- Coach and develop people management capability of line managers, equipping them with knowledge and skills for staff management responsibilities.
- Assist with Trust‑wide initiatives, developments, or HR projects as required.
- Deputise for the HR Manager when required and support agile working; travel to other Trust sites as necessary.
- Manage a caseload of employee relations and sickness absence cases, balancing competing priorities.
Qualifications
- Degree level education (or equivalent experience) and CIPD Graduate membership.
- Experience gained in a large and complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of employee relations, sickness absence, and HR policy.
- Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities, and deliver results.
- Knowledge and experience in delivering HR services within external and internal standards.
- Applicants without a full CIPD Level 5 qualification may be considered under ANNEX 21 of the NHS Terms and Conditions if they meet the required criteria.
