Service Manager – Supported Living
Location: Swindon
Salary: £34,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
We are looking for a passionate and motivated Service Manager to oversee a group of supported living services in Swindon. This role involves supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism, and complex care needs to live independently and achieve meaningful, fulfilling lives in their own homes. Working alongside the Registered Manager (and senior operational support where applicable), you will be responsible for managing commissioned support hours, leading staff teams, and ensuring services consistently meet regulatory standards, internal policies, and quality and performance targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery of person-centred support, ensuring individuals’ needs and goals are prioritised
Manage, supervise and develop Support Workers, including recruitment, training and performance reviews
Create and review care and support plans to ensure they reflect individual needs
Ensure services are delivered safely, effectively and in line with regulatory standards
Maintain compliance with CQC requirements and organisational policies
Build positive working relationships with families, professionals and external partners
Manage safeguarding concerns, incidents and risk appropriately
Promote safe working practices and ensure health & safety compliance
Support quality monitoring, audits, inspections and service improvements
Respond appropriately to service needs and operational challenges
Participate in the rota, including occasional sleep-in shifts where required
Provide hands-on support when needed and role model best practice
Candidate Requirements:
Experience working within supported living services for adults with learning disabilities and/or autism
Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills
Care Certificate and relevant mandatory training
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office 365
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English
Desirable:
Level 4 or Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
Previous supervisory or management experience within adult social care
Knowledge or training in Positive Behaviour Support, Active Support, PBM, Makaton or BSL
