Overview
We have a full-time, fully funded HPB Medicine Fellowship starting in September 2026. The fellowship is primarily based at Royal London Hospital with some endoscopy activity at Mile End Hospital. The post would suit a recently qualified or senior trainee seeking to advance their skills in HPB medicine in a welcoming environment. The program aims to complement existing gastroenterology services and offer advanced training in Pancreaticobiliary endoscopy. The fellowship duration is 12 months.
Responsibilities
* Endoscopy and HPB training including ERCP and EUS (including Spy Cholangioscopy, pancreatic endotherapy, and therapeutic EUS).
* Clinical practice comprising 7 sessions per week and academic activities comprising 3 sessions per week.
* Clinical experience includes participation in 3–4 EUS/ERCP training lists per week, 2 clinics per week, and 2 general endoscopy lists per week.
* One endoscopy session is flexible and may be worked on a Saturday in line with senior fellow/consultant arrangements at Royal London Hospital.
* Academic sessions dedicated to research (including a personal project), teaching, and administration.
* Active participation in at least one research project and one audit project.
* Opportunities to attend benign and malignant pancreatic MDTs.
* Participation in the Gastroenterologist of the Week rota.
Qualifications & Requirements
* End of specialist training and JAG accreditation for diagnostic OGD, colonoscopy, and polypectomy.
* Audit data satisfying standard JAG auditable outcomes.
