Clinical Support Worker - Outpatients

We are recruiting for a Clinical Support Worker - Outpatients who shares our vision to be trusted to provide consistent outstanding care and exemplary service to our patients.

The department is a busy and diverse area with specialties including Breast clinics, General Surgery, General Medicine, Neurology and Urology. If you are seeking a new challenge in your clinical career, this could be the opportunity for you at this time.

Main duties of the job

As a member of the Outpatients team, you will have various opportunities in developing your clinical skills and knowledge in the Outpatients Department.

You will be providing support to the team of staff in delivering a quality service that is linked to high standard of patient care.

Communicate effectively and work in partnership with patients, nursing colleagues, the Multidisciplinary Team and all other relevant personnel.

Assist the Registered Nurse in the planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing care.

You will be able to recognise and respond appropriately to urgent and emergency situations.

Person Specification


Qualifications / Training

* Minimum Level 1 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy
* Basic Education
* Willingness to undertake Care Certificate
* To undertake Apprenticeship Programme within fixed term contract


Previous Experience

* Previous experience in health care setting
* Previous experience of working in teams
* Currently working in an acute ward environment within the NHS
* Previous experience in Outpatients Department


Skills

* Evidence of good communication skills both written and verbal
* Ability to prioritize and organise workload
* Self motivated
* Flexibility and team participation
* Basic IT skills – ability to use keyboard and computer
* Understanding of quality and change in the clinical setting
