Role Overview
The Junior Contracts Officer will support the Legal team in delivering efficient and high‑quality legal services across the business, focusing on contract management, compliance, and stakeholder support. The role reports to the Commercial Contracts Lead or Head of Legal as required and demands a professional and responsive approach to requests from colleagues, with accurate and timely work delivered to the highest standards.
Responsibilities
* Review and draft a range of commercial agreements (supplier contracts, terms and conditions, service agreements, NDAs).
* Conduct basic legal research and summarise findings for the Legal team.
* Instruct overseas legal counsel when required.
* Assist with due‑diligence processes and document review exercises.
* Support compliance activities, including data protection and internal policy adherence.
* Manage document templates and enforce version control.
* Maintain the contracts database.
* Support onboarding and monitoring of third‑party suppliers from a legal perspective.
* Assist with dispute resolution preparation (gathering documents, timelines, evidence packs).
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree level education (Law, Business Studies/Administration, or similar).
* 1–2 years of previous administrative or legal work experience (including internships or placements) is desirable.
* Proficiency in Word and Excel is essential.
* Previous experience of Atlassian tools (Jira & Confluence) is desirable.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the work undertaken at SubSea Craft, the selected candidate must meet security requirements, including an existing right to live and work in the UK, Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS), and UK National security clearance for certain roles.
