The Role:
Working in conjunction with Senior Technicians, the job holder is responsible for managing the administration and support processes in relation to clients’ insurance requirements. This is done in accordance with Group policy to achieve targets, develop the business, and deliver an excellent and comprehensive service.
As a Master Technician, you will demonstrate your extensive experience and expertise to manage sophisticated technical tasks and projects within the insurance sector. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of insurance documents and support the development of standard processes within the organisation. Your role is crucial in providing technical support and mentorship to other technicians and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
What you'll be doing
* Implementing the operating plan for their area
* Managing assigned projects and contributing to other projects as required
* Providing relevant management information to the management team as required
* Supervising output within their area of responsibility to ensure it meets agreed service and quality standards
* Assisting in the creation of comprehensive broking, client, and other types of documents
* Staying informed of all regulatory and legal changes impacting the role
* Ensuring up-to-date records are maintained at all times on the company systems
* Developing positive relationships with divisions and acting as a critical issue point within their areas of responsibility
* Actively undertaking personal development to ensure up-to-date knowledge and understanding of standard methodologies
* Remaining aware of external, industry, legal, and regulatory developments to ensure practices and outputs are of a sufficiently high standard
Who we're looking for
* Experience in a similar role is crucial
* Good understanding of the Lloyd's and London market
* Proficient IT skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Ability to undertake and demonstrate competence in technical training as required by the industry regulator
* Strong understanding of FCA regulations as they pertain to insurance intermediaries
* Attention to detail with the ability to produce accurate documentation
* Ability to work effectively within a team and answer queries from less experienced members of staff
* Prioritisation and organisational skills
* Self-motivated
* Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external partners
Qualifications:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths crucial
* A-level Grade A-C (or equivalent)
* Progression towards gaining professional qualifications is desired but not essential
