Rate of Pay: £244.82 - £322.25 per day
Summary:
As a Principal Infrastructure Planner, you will be a key driver within a high-pressure Spatial Planning and Infrastructure Team. Your primary focus is to ensure that the necessary physical and social infrastructure is secured and delivered to support the Borough's growth.You will oversee a massive investment portfolio of approximately £300m in infrastructure commitments. This role is technical, financial, and strategic—requiring you to navigate the complexities of developer contributions (CIL and Section 106) while ensuring projects identified in the Infrastructure Delivery Plan (IDP) move from concept to completion.
Responsibilities:
* Lead the programming and delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects listed in the Council's IDP, managing multiple workstreams with substantial budgets simultaneously.
* Support and maintain the sophisticated systems used to store financial and project data for the £300m portfolio. You will be responsible for precise data input and complex analysis to ensure financial integrity.
* Facilitate the governance processes for infrastructure planning. This involves servicing decision-making boards, managing high-level meetings, and ensuring all documentation meets council standards.
* Take full ownership of your portfolio, ensuring that project milestones are met and that developer-funded infrastructure aligns with local growth needs.
Qualifications:
* Degree or Post-Graduate level qualification in a relevant subject (Town Planning, Regeneration, Surveying, Property, Business Management, or Finance/Accounting).
Essentials:
* Eligible for membership in a relevant professional body such as RTPI, RICS, or RIBA.
* Substantial professional experience in planning, surveying, or a field directly related to infrastructure planning.
* Experience managing large budgets and complex, multi-million-pound project programmes.
