JOB : Process Engineer
LOCATION : Swansea
TERM : Permanent
SALARY : GBP 40,000 to GBP 45,000 per annum (plus benefits)
My client is a leading Engineering and Manufacturing business supplying high:quality products across multiple sectors. Due to continued growth and investment in their production operations, they are looking to take on a Process Engineer to join their team in Swansea.
The Process Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Experience working as a Process Engineer within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong background in Continuous Improvement (CI), Lean methodologies, and waste reduction
- Proficiency with CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor or similar) for process layouts, design changes, and line optimisation
- A hands:on approach, comfortable working directly on the shop floor implementing improvements
- Good understanding of manufacturing flow, process mapping, and workflow optimisation
- Ability to lead improvement projects and deliver measurable efficiency gains
- Strong problem:solving skills and familiarity with RCA tools (5Y, Fishbone, etc.)
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams
- Engineering qualification such as HNC, HND, BEng, or equivalent
The Process Engineer role will involve:
- Identifying and delivering process improvements across production areas
- Using CAD to update layouts, visualise improvements, and support design changes
- Leading CI activities, workshops, and improvement events
- Analysing performance data to drive efficiency, reduce waste, and improve throughput
- Working hands:on on the production floor to implement and validate process changes
- Supporting new equipment introduction and commissioning
- Liaising with cross:functional teams to ensure processes comply with quality and safety standards
- Producing documentation, standard operating procedures, and reports
