More about the role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially drivenSenior Buyerto lead direct procurement activities within our construction and materials category. This role is critical to ensuring the timely and cost-effective sourcing of materials, subcontractor services, and equipment essential to project delivery.
You'll lead end-to-end procurement processes across defined categories, ensuring all activity is compliant with internal policies and external regulations.
The role is working in our South Rings Office in Preston 1-2 days a week

You'll have proven experience in procurement or commercial roles, with a strong understanding of sourcing and contract management.
Your negotiation skills will be matched by your ability to build strong relationships across teams and with suppliers.
The Essential Criteria for this role is
* Proven experience in Direct procurement within theconstruction industryis essential
* Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify opportunities and deliver value for money
* Skilled in developing high-quality procurement documentation, including strategies, tender documents, and recommendations.
