Swansea Bay University Health Board's Digital Transformation department is seeking to recruit an Electronic Prescribing Facilitator.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Electronic Prescribing Facilitator to join our Digital Programmes team and support the continued rollout and management of the Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) system across Swansea Bay University Health Board. As part of the national HEPMA pathfinder programme, this is an exciting opportunity to help shape digital medicines transformation across Wales. You will provide frontline support to clinical teams, deliver high‑quality training to staff at all levels, and ensure safe, effective use of the electronic prescribing system in busy ward environments. The role involves creating and managing user accounts, resolving user queries, supporting system administration tasks, and contributing to the planning, testing and delivery of system upgrades. You will work closely with senior colleagues, maintain a visible presence across clinical areas, promote digital ways of working, and help ensure that medication processes remain safe, efficient and patient‑centred. Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Educated to degree level in a relevant subject, or have equivalent experience relevant to the role
2. Evidence of continuous professional development
3. IQT Bronze.
Desirable criteria
4. IT training qualification
5. Knowledge of electronic prescribing and medicines administration processes
6. Understanding of change management
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Experience of using clinical information systems / patient administration systems
8. Experience of working within a healthcare organisation
9. Experience of training users in a healthcare environment
Desirable criteria
10. Prior experience of using or training users on an electronic prescribing and medicines administration solution
Aptitude and abilities
