Overview
RPS are seeking Trainee Acoustic Logging Technicians for our United Utilities contract to take acoustic samples that indicate leakage on the water network. Opportunities are available in the North West. The project is based from the Warrington office with applications welcome from Merseyside, Lancashire and Greater Manchester. This is an excellent opportunity to develop skills and experience with a leading Environmental Consultancy.
Responsibilities
* Locating water main fittings using plans
* Deploying and retrieving loggers that record acoustic data used to help locate leakage
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
* Enjoy working outdoors; most work is conducted outside in all weather conditions
* Good standard of basic maths and English
* Basic IT skills
* Willing to work occasional nights, weekends and overtime as required
* Good hearing
* Tidy and well organised
* Take pride in your work and care for equipment and tools
* Able to work alone and as part of a team
Qualifications
* Full UK driving licence
Health and Safety
* Moving heavy items including inspection chamber covers
* Working in all weather conditions (including night work)
* Possible confined spaces and highway exposure
* Mandatory drugs and alcohol tests and DBS check where required
