Part-time – 17.5 hours per week
Salary: £16,500 - £18,000 per annum (FTE £33,000 - £36,000 per annum)
The Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich is seeking to recruit a part-time Safeguarding Trainer and Training Co-ordinator to support the mission and ministry of the Church of England in Suffolk by co-ordinating, quality assuring and delivering programmes of safeguarding training relevant to, and required by, those working with children and vulnerable groups in the Diocese.
There is also a requirement to consult with the National Church of England Safeguarding Team's Training and Development Manager, to ensure that training in the diocese meets the requirements of the National Safeguarding Learning and Development Policy. You will also work closely with the other members of the Diocesan Safeguarding Team to coordinate and facilitate the recruitment, training, development and ongoing support of a team of Diocesan Approved Volunteer Safeguarding Trainers.
To be successful in the role you will need to have experience of delivering safeguarding training, both virtually and in person. The proven ability to review and quality assure course content and delivery, along with a proven knowledge and understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures in relation to children, adults and vulnerable 'at risk' groups is essential in this role. To facilitate this, the successful candidate must also be able to demonstrate a willingness and ability to adapt their approach to meet the needs and priorities of a range of stakeholders, many of whom have a strong commitment to their Faith.
Although based in the Diocesan offices in Ipswich, the successful candidate will need to have the ability and willingness to travel throughout Suffolk and occasionally further afield.
